ANALYZING GPS DATA
ANALYZING GPS DATA
GPS (Global Positioning System) technology captures detailed data on player movements, including metrics such as speed, distance, and more. Common variables analyzed include:
Total Distance Covered
Distance Covered in Each Zone
High-Speed Runs
Sprints and Top Speed
I analyze this data from each game or training session and provide it to the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) coach. This analysis helps in minimizing the risk of injury and optimizing physical performance. Below, you can see some examples of the data insights
These are just a few examples of the metrics analyzed. There are many other variables typically considered, such as accelerations, decelerations, and their respective speeds.
Furthermore, beyond these visuals, I can combine various workload variables and compare them over several weeks to track progress and identify possible outliers. Essentially, any specific analysis requested by the S&C coach that is available within the data can be providedÂ
I want to emphasize that my analysis is not tied to any specific tracking company. I can work with data from any GPS provider, as long as I receive the report from the club. This flexibility allows me to tailor the analysis to the specific needs of each team and player.
